Come along and meet with like-minded people who are
passionate about African violets and their Gesneriad cousins.
We offer up to three meetings each month; two for African
violets and one for other Gesneriads. The meetings are held at Alvie Hall, situated
at the corner of High Street and Alvie Roads in Mount Waverley.
Listed below are the meeting days and times.
Violet meeting – third Wednesday of every month except December. Doors open
at 9:45am for a 10:00am start. Meeting concludes at 12pm.
Violet meeting – third Saturday of every month except November. Doors open
at 11:45am for a 12pm start. Meeting concludes at 1:30pm with a 30 minute break
before the next meeting.
Gesneriad Study Group
meeting – third Saturday of every month except November. Meeting commences
at 2pm and concludes at 4pm.
Entry for each of the days is $3 so if you are attending the
Saturday meetings you can attend one or both for the flat rate of $3.
Our meetings have a friendly vibe and we encourage you to
ask any questions that you have regarding African violet and Gesneriad culture.
We cover a range of topics that are designed to help you learn how to grow and
propagate your African violets and other Gesneriads. Members of our club can
purchase supplies at most of the meetings except the Christmas party in
December. Depending on availability, there will also be members’ plants available
for purchase. Visitors are welcome to attend up to 3 meetings without becoming
a member and we hope you like us enough to join our club!
